These Chocolate Button Cookies are sure to become a holiday favorite. They are the perfect balance of chocolatey sweetness. They are soft, chewy, and brownie like when you bite into them and the nonpareils add a little button of extra melt in your mouth chocolate love that's covered in sugar pearl sprinkles. Easy to bake and irresistible to eat!

Make 24 Cookies.



The Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 3 eggs, room temp

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 1/2 cup confectionary sugar

  • 24 to 26 large dark chocolate nonpareils


The Method:

  1. In a standing mixer, cream together the butter, sugar, and cocoa powder. Add in the eggs and vanilla and beat for about 2 minutes. Scrape down the bowl.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until just combined. Scrape down the down and refrigerate for at 30 minutes.

  4. When you're ready to make the cookies, preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside. Place the confectionary sugar into a small bowl.

  5. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Roll each ball into the confectionary sugar.

  6. Place each dough ball 2" apart on the cookie sheet.

  7. Bake for 12 Minutes.

  8. Press a nonpareil into the center of each cookie as soon as you remove them from the oven.

  9. Cool on a rack.
