A fun twist on the classic Pigs in a Blanket. 

Perfect to please a crowd or just make them for your family and watch them disappear. 

A savory filling of pork and all the right seasoning is all wrapped up in puff pasty. Once baked, you're left with a crispy golden bite of deliciousness. Don't stop there though. Be sure to give it a dunk in the simple Honey Dijon Sauce for an extra party in your mouth moment.

The Ingredients:

1 sheet puff pasty

2 slices thick cut ham, diced

2 tbsp unsalted Butter

1 small onion, diced

1 lb ground pork

1 tbsp fresh sage, minced (1 tsp dried)

1 tbsp fresh rosemary, minced (1 tsp dried)

1 tbsp garlic powder 

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp sea salt + 1/4 tsp pepper 

1 tbsp Dijon mustard 

1 egg, beat in a bowl with 1 tbsp water

1 tbsp sesame seeds


The Dipping Sauce:

In a small bowl, whisk until combined:

1/4 cup mayo

1 tbsp Dijon mustard 

1 tbsp grainy mustard 

1 tbsp honey


The Method:

Preheat oven to 40O°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment. Set aside. 

1. In a saute pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add in onion and ham. Sauté until slightly browned. Allow to cool slightly.

2. In a large bowl, add the pork, onions and ham, herbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and dijon mustard. Mix until combined. Set aside.

3. On a floured board, cut the puff pastry sheet horizontally. Set one half aside. Roll the other out to about 14 inches.

4. Brush one side of the long ends of the pastry with egg wash. 

5. Place half the pork mixture in the center of the pastry making a log shape along it pastry.

6. Fold pastry over the pork mixture seam side down. Pinch the edges to seal. Place the roll on to the prepared sheet. 

7. Lightly score the top of the roll diagonally into 12 sections. Brush the top with egg wash. Sprinkle top with half the sesame seeds. 

8. Repeat with the other half.

9. Bake for 25 minutes or until pastry is flaky and golden bowl. 

10. Allow to cool 5 minutes before cutting and servings. 


Serve with the Dijon Honey Mustard Sauce.
